Power efficiency is another concern, as continuous sensor operation drains batteries—a key consideration for mobile AR. Privacy is also critical, as cameras and depth sensors capture sensitive environmental data. Tools like ARCore and ARKit abstract some complexity by handling sensor data processing, but developers still need to test across hardware variations to ensure consistent performance. Ultimately, the right sensor mix depends on balancing accuracy, latency, and resource constraints for the specific use case.
