In a smart grid, energy distribution agents might use RL to balance power supply and demand amid fluctuating renewable energy sources. Additionally, meta-reasoning—where agents monitor their own confidence levels—helps them decide when to seek external input. For example, a warehouse robot unsure about an item’s location might query a central database or nearby robots instead of guessing. These layered approaches allow multi-agent systems to function robustly even when exact outcomes cannot be predicted.
